Archlord X: The Chronicles - DragonScion Race

DragonScion Race

OUTLINE

DragonScion is the fourth race to arrive at the continent of Chantra. They were made from the skin and bone of the great dragon 'Mightthesis' 2,000 years back, after their creation they roamed the planet for 1000 years, searching for a place to subside, finally reaching the continent of Chantra. From the beginning, it wasn't simple for them to find peace in this dangerous world. Once they first landed on Nordenland they experienced surprise calamity. The remaining moved to the south, but there the orcs who had originally seemed so amenable to them, turned against them and slaughtered them one by one. So this is why DragonScions have such animosity for the Orcs. After a while DragonScion moved to live alongside the human race and taught them their advanced knowledge. However they soon realized it had been hard to integrate with other races while resembling a dragon, so they soon used their superior abilities to change the look of them to some more human one.

APPEARANCE

The DragonScion looks like 10 ~12 year old human children. They've brown or dark red color skins, their musculature definition appears quite strong, as well as their stiff hair and sharp looks would be the most significant characteristics of the race. Another feature is the eyes; smaller in dimensions since their change of appearance but nonetheless the intense amber color of the dragon forebears. However, as their eyes tend to be more rounded than those of cats or reptiles they are much more appealing. Your skin from the DragonScion is covered with tiny scales; if you don't look closely you might not even notice it. However their spine is included with thicker, harder scales. These scales are a good way of protecting their health as DragonScions don't wear much armour. Although the thick scales only cover the spine, this does not mean that other parts of the DragonScions bodies are weak, even without armour their skins can't be cut with normal weapons. .

PERSONALITY

DragonScion is usually very gentle and calm, however they do not hold back when in battle. However, their origin isn’t aggressive which is unusual to see one out of a hot temper. Also, they are happy with being the descendants from the great dragon, but they don’t flaunt their superiority to other races. Because DragonScion society is based on trust and regard, they consider betrayal as the ultimate crime. So, when individuals betray them, DragonScion will require revenge against their foes until their death. Because the Orcs race used to be also friendly to them however betrayed them, revealing their true darkness; DragonScions' thirst for vengeance remains unslaked.

ABILITY

DragonScions looks weak and vulnerable before the evolution because they hide all their abilities inside the body, but after the evolution they reveal greater power than any of the other races. The scales which are wrapped around their body tend to be stronger than every other races weapons, and also the power that comes out using their muscular body is incredible. All the DragonScion has fast movement speed, except the Orbiters who lost their wings. Even without the wings though, the Orbiters have slightly higher movement speed than other races. DragonScion doesn‘t have a problem in moving for they do not need any mounts. But their attack speeds really are a bit slow, so that they face difficulties when facing large number of fast enemies. DragonScion has better perception compared to Moonelfs. They look out of the dark, regardless of how crowded, they could discriminate the exact sound; these senses are developed and earned through for a long time training.

BELIEF

DragonScion does not believe in spirits, but they're skillful in handling the component of air, so that they have a high defensive strength against air elemental attacks. However they are weak against earth elemental attacks. And they are mostly average defence against additional factors.

COSTUMES

It was important for the DragonScion to build up and harden their health, so armour became unnecessary. Nevertheless, considering they were living among other beings, they couldn't’t walk around undressed, so that they decked out with garments much like human’s. They provided their garments from tree twisted fibre with simple decorations. Because they didn‘t possess a difference in gender, everyone wore the same monotonous jacket and pants. They often wear sleeveless jacket and shorts, but they usually tie their wrist and ankle with laces once they venture out in public. There isn't any defensive power within the clothes, however the patterns on the cloth states the spiritual mind level they have reached. The greater intricate and splendid the pattern the larger the training of the DragonScion. Beside garments, DragonScion wears metal rings on the head, wrists, ankles, and waist. This does not affect them when they're in a human form but when they are transformed it improves their damage and immune system. The colour and the shape of the ring is closely related with the after evolution form.

Archlord X: The Chronicles - Moonelf Race

MOONELF Race

OUTLINE

The MoonElves are a race that was considered once Elves but have grown to be mutated through their use of the dark spirits. Once among three of the great elf races that inhabited the Nordenland throughout the 2nd period, these were the very first race to fall within the Great War. Due to this devastating war the majority of the male population were annihilated, several where able to escape and with the women hide themselves from the outside world in the shadows. As time went on the ladies took it upon themselves to exchange a mans position and learnt to master the fine arts of hunting and magic. The few remaining men were banished from combat, as they were to precious an investment. Via a cruel twist of fate the remaining men only seem able to produce more women. Thus the MoonElves were forced to step using their shadowy world and begin exploring for additional breeding options, which is how they came into existence known through the Orc and Human. They were so ashamed of this action that they made a decision to hide themselves in the dark for hundreds of years, only revealing themselves once their land was invaded by the Orc and Human.
Archlord X: The Chronicles - Moonelf Race

APPEARANCE

The MoonElves have very slender figures with tall, sharp ears, much sharper than other Elves. This can be a direct result of their aggressive and lean upbringing. Soft and supple skin ensures they are very prone to bruising and scars, which are often displayed as tattoos and shown off with pride.

PERSONALITY

The MoonElves collective personality has evolved over time, driven by their many years of isolation. Arrogance and stubborn behavior are typical traits of the MoonElves, as is their contempt for other races. Upon finally revealing themselves their obstinate nature caused much friction, often sparking inter-racial wars. Over the years the MoonElves have calmed down significantly like a society and also have even extended their warmth with other races, gaining respect along the way. Remarkable ability to handle light knives and bows is revered throughout the continent, with many other races risking life and limb looking for a Moon Elf knife master from whom they are able to gain great knowledge. The MoonElves nocturnal habits have also were built with a direct effect on their development, mastering the art of tracking, they are able to now stalk anything across vast distances, often with hardly any information to go on. Despite their magnificent appearance, the MoonElves can be quick to anger, and people who in incur their wrath should be fearful.

SOCIETY

The MoonElf society is extremely structured with distinctive class divides that rarely change, even when groups independent of the central population are formed. Progression in the social hierarchy is rare and infrequent whereas moving down is much more common. The cheapest class is often referred to as “Lesser Moon Elves” and is the 2nd largest class in MoonElf society. This section of society is largely made up of slave elves, who’s main role would be to mine for materials, this labor intensive role implies that these Elves are cursed having a life time of under 500 years. The Midi MoonElf would be the largest MoonElf class and make up a really large and powerful force, especially sometimes of war. The majority of these Elves work in manufacturing and construction as well as having responsibility for gathering water and food. The truly amazing MoonElves are the highest class in MoonElf society which is made up of society leaders, those who direct wars, dictate social structure and oversee the MoonElf culture. Through many years of selective breeding, this elite class has come to be known as the Prim MoonElf. This is actually the highest class and is solely made up of elders, wise old MoonElves who have a large number of knowledge and experience.

EDUCATION

MoonElves operate a survival from the fittest approach, using the weaker aspects of MoonElf society aggressively weeded out. When MoonElves reach 50 (10 years in Human years) they face an ability test whose results determine their entry into society, i.e. will they enter in the same level as their parents, or be demoted.

BELIEF

According to Elf’s traditions, they worship the power of Spirits thoroughly. They could transform their health through dark magic, but this process is just employed for their survival. They've the best faith within the Spirits of all the other races within the continent.

RESIDENCE

Many years ago, the MoonElf civilization could be found perching in treetops in dense forests, however, forced out of Nordeland, shelter was discovered in caves. Soon growing tired of cave dwelling, they go about constructing housing and villages. The majorities of MoonElf houses have 2 floors and are very elaborate in design. They are built upwards rather than outwards, echoing back to their treetop living past.

EATING HABITS

MoonElves exist on a diet not dissimilar towards the Humans; however, they use various herbs and mushrooms, lethal with other races in Chantra. This, along with their terribly uncivilized diet plan helps to ensure that MoonElves often eat in isolation.

COSTUMES

Clothing and appearance are vitally important to MoonElf culture. They take great pride in all that they wear as well as their clothing is designed to attract attention from others, which MoonElves acquire, immense pleasure from. Their elaborate designs include plenty of color as well as reveal plenty of flesh, that is extremely popular within MoonElf culture. A lot importance is positioned on MoonElf clothing that MoonElves discovered to be wearing clothes above their station face severe punishment and ultimately death.

PUNISHMENTS

MoonElves place an enormous amount of importance on maintaining their social structure and destroying the category is viewed as the biggest sin of all. Love, which transcends throughout the classes, is forbidden and people experiencing such feelings will face the death penalty. Although it is very rare in MoonElf culture for crimes such as murder and theft to happen, it is almost impossible to avoid punishment once MoonElves have been shown to have acted by doing so. The death penalty is the most severe punishment, then imprisonment and whipping.

DEFENSE

The MoonElf focus is currently towards the East along its border using the North. Here they live a peaceful existence alongside Orcs. They continue to be an arrogant and proud society but have been forced to learn how to tolerate outsiders to guarantee their own long-term survival.

Archlord X: The Chronicles - Orc Race

Orc Race

OUTLINE

The Orcs have occupied the land of Chantra for any 1000 years longer then the Humans. Because of this, the Orcs held themselves in higher regard then their Human counterparts and enslaved them for 500 years. With time the Humans rebelled against their Orc masters and eventually won their freedom. 500 years later the continent was struck with a huge earthquake, which caused much of the continent to sink into the ocean. Humans and Orcs were forced to flee the western continent of Chantra and underneath the leadership of Ugdrasil, the Orcs colonised a small part of the continent where they began the re-building process.
Archlord X: The Chronicles - Orc Race

APPEARANCE

Around two metres tall with dark skin and wiry hair, the Orcs are typically muscular regardless of gender. In the chronilogical age of 12 most Orcs reach their full size and by 13 are thought adults. Young Orcs face a hard upbringing, raised like lions would raise their cubs; young Orcs often incur scars, which are seen as marks of honour and courage. Because the Orcs' skin continues to be very weak, they generally wear armour much more battle, made from loose fitting leather, ideal for close combat.

PERSONALITY

A very hostile and war-like individuals who place conquest above all else. Easily offended and quick to anger, the Orcs differ greatly from Humans and MoonElves. Orcs are not renowned for their intellectual insight, often using a plain take on life, and seldom deciding to dwell on issue and complex matters. For the most part this causes little problem, however, Orcs have been known to succumb to traps easier then other races as they fail to appreciate what is before them.

ABILITY

Exceptionally gifted in the art of combat, Orcs are substantially stronger and much more fitter compared to average human.
Orcs are also gifted with enhanced nocturnal senses; their brilliant night vision coupled with a heightened olfaction means they are an unsafe foe beneath the night sky. Yet despite these heightened senses they've substandard hearing as well as their colour recognition may be the poorest in Chantra. The Orcs are not the most delicate of creatures, preferring brute force over any other method, and this is reflected within their weapon design, with many of the weapons made to smash and pulverize their opponent. Due to the Orcs fiercely combative lifestyle, nearly all Beserkers do not live beyond their mid 30s owing to the injuries they sustain over their lifetime. However, this is largely caused by long term develop as Orcs bodies recover well from injuries usually. The Hunters and Mages often live longer lives because of their insufficient close range combat, the majority of the ones that choose these kinds will live until at least their 70s.

SOCIAL STRUCTURE

The Orcs possess a simple structure that is based on strength, with all of those below the High Orc being considered equal. The position of High Orc is available to any or all who believe they have the strength to challenge for it; this method of ascension is becoming so ingrained in Orc culture that it is not considered disloyal or treason to challenge the present High Orc. Thus the Orc that wins is treated with respect and obedience by all those below him. The majority of the Orc population train as Beserkers from the very early age. Over time the strongest are encouraged to become leaders, whilst the weaker elements are side lined and asked to seek employment in other fields. Prior to the duration of Walcure and Ugdrasil those seeking to pursue schools of magic might have faced mockery and derision. But the Orc population has arrived at respect the level of focus and devotion required to achieve success Orc Mage.

EDUCATION

Education does not feature prominently in Orc society. Instead, they like to permit their young to fend for themselves. Combat techniques are the only area in which the Orcs have an organised education program. Once an Orc, man or woman, is able to walk they're swiftly taken into combat classes were they spend up to 9 hours each day in training. Once they reach adulthood, considered to be 13, the strongest continues within their training whilst the weak are diverted with other fields.

FAITH

Orc faith is grounded within their past, with respect for their Ancestors at its core. All Orcs aspire to stand between the revered when they fall on the battlefield and they also fight on to gain hero status. Before each battle nearly all Orcs undergo a pre-battle ritual in which they pray to their ancestors, and mark their weapons or skin using the names from the honoured ones. The Orcs however are also aware that they aren't the only real ones that occupy the lands of Chantra and are careful to respect the Spirits that occupy Chantra’s plains.

HOUSING

The thought of building dwellings to live is a that is relatively new towards the Orcs. For several years they lived an outrageous life, choosing to reside in huts and caves instead of spend your time on elaborate housing structures. This attitude changed however weight loss time was spent coping with humans. When they left their flooded continent and moved to Chantra they took this newfound curiosity about housing with them. Orc housing still reflects their primitive past, with stone being the most typical building material of choice. Consequently their properties are extremely solid structures, but not overly elaborate in design as they would rather have few rooms that are very large with high ceilings to be able to accommodate their massive height. The Orcs passion for aggression isn't to be forgotten and is apparent through the use of Ivory to brighten the outside of their properties, which creates a strong and aggressive appearance.

EATING HABITS

Orcs dietary requirements are very simple, focused mainly on meat. This allows these phones hunt, which in turn enables them to train, relax as well as collecting food. The only real time Orc let vegetables cross there lips happens when they take them to deal with various diseases and illnesses.

COSTUMES

Early Orc descendants did not wear much clothing, preferring to opt for a natural look, devoting the majority of their time to mastering combat instead of tailoring. Years of connection with Humans, has resulted in the Orc taking an interest in clothing and leather is the preferred choice. Like housing, the eye in costumes came from getting together with Humanity. It is often tough to tell the difference between the Orc’s leather armor set and their daily garb, as they are both similar in style and only white and red as they do not have very advanced dyeing skills. Orc have made some attempt to master the skill of metal armorsmithing, but they have yet to refine the skill. As a result they're only really able to create very bulky and heavy armor that couldn’t be worn by anyone other than Orc.

LAW

Laws within Orc society are made around 10 key principles, 3 of which are related to murder, 3 associated with war, 2 are theft related and the final 2 are duty related. Those who break the law are assessed against these 10 principles through the local leader before their punishment is decided. The most well-liked Orc punishment is physical instead of imprisonment, with lashes being the most typical punishment used. Some crimes do carry the death penalty, but this can only be completed if there is unanimous consent and it is normally only issued against people who choose to flee a battlefield instead of stay and fight to the death.

PUNISHMENT

Within Orc culture the biggest sin an Orc can undertake would be to escape from battle and then leave the enemy behind. If Orc would return home without completing the battle they would surely face the death penalty. Punishments for other crimes are based around the standards within each village and physical punishment will always be preferred.

COMBAT

Orcs take combat very seriously and devout a large part of their lives to perfecting their combat skills. When they are not fighting, they like to invest their time working on their technique, sharpening their swords or dueling with family and friends. Combat is very much the be all and end all their existence.

Magic
Despite Orc background and tales of great magicians over the years, very few Orc actively decide to become shamans, instead preferring the standard Berserker route. The ones that do choose the magic path however face great difficulties, as the Orc don't have an excellent convenience of magic and must continue to work harder than any of the other races at mastering their chosen discipline. The ones that do make it and acquire a chance to handle magic aren't any worse off than the other magic wielders on Chantra.

CURRENT POWER

Since their avoid Human enslavement, the Orc have lived in relative isolation. But this resolve has weakened through the work of Radeus III and Human attempts at reconciliation. Orc are now emerging throughout Chantra in droves and despite their short lifespan; they've an un-paralleled convenience of breeding.

Archlord X: The Chronicles - Human Race

OUTLINE

The Human race first appeared in Chantra 1000 years following the Orc had settled. Following the dramatic sinking of their land, key pioneers in Human society initially established a foothold within the Western area of the continent known as Chantra. History suggests these were able to perform so because of their ability of handling fire. In the early stages, Humans lived in relative peace, however, they soon began to realize that Orc had landed on the Eastern part of the continent and in a short time tensions were raised because the Humans became protective over their territory. Humans have a relatively short lifespan, with 80 years regarded as long. Humans also provide an inferior breeding capacity when compared to Orc, using the average number of offspring being 3.
Archlord X: The Chronicles - Human Race

APPEARANCE

With an average height of 175cm, mankind is by no means the tallest the Chantra. However, the Humans are a race whose immediate surroundings effect on their physical features, for instance, complexion, hair & eye color vary greatly dependant on factors for example their role in society, weather and diet. Humans are fully aware of the frailties, and so put lots of emphasis on their armor and housing. This has led to some of the most spectacular armor sets seen in Chantra as well as substantial housing developments, by which they've clustered together for protection.

PERSONALITY

Humans are a complex race, which share many similar traits, however each Human depends on their individual the ability to lead. Very stubborn and frequently envious off those with superior strength and power, they likewise have limited patience. Humans enjoy war but are sometimes known for his or her incredible generosity and kindness. Their love of drinking, singing and dancing guarantees regular festivals wherever they reside.

ABILITY

Human’s familiarity with fire led them to make use of iron. Human weapon smiths are sought throughout the land for his or her superior skill. Yet these aren't the only real skills that the Human race has acquired. They were also quick to build up other creative skills including tailoring, armor making and economics. Utilizing these skills has allowed the Human race to carve themselves a distinct segment role in Chantra’s larger society. It has helped ensure their survival and development through the years.

SOCIETY

Humanity places strong focus on status, protocol and structure. Over time they evolved from a society where the strongest held the greatest social position to a Monarchy based society. This is often further elaborated on.

SOCIAL STRUCTURE

The social structures found through the lands by which humans have settled share many traits. Stronger Humans and people with influence are normally in a position of dominance. To keep relative peace within their culture when Humans age and die their descendants inherit their position, regardless of their abilities. To outsiders, a persons society appears equal with warriors, mages, merchants and peasants all receiving treatment the same. However, this isn’t always the case, as wealth, honor and age go a long way to determining how someone is treated. Consequently human society has a tendency to divide its self into classes, with Nobles (the ones that hold the most wealth and power) to Laborers (the ones that carry out the majority of the manual work and are considered the lowest class in Human society).

EDUCATION

Unlike other races in Chantra, the Humans established an organized education system. They will use education to determine social position with just the most financially privileged receiving a complete education. However the ones that decide to pursue the warrior arts, whether Mage, Knight or Hunter, all receives extensive education within their chosen positions. The education structure of these warriors depends on the ones that live long enough, taking the time to pass on their knowledge to those beneath them.

FAITH

Through the years, a persons civilization has become quite spiritual. Having spent periods in relative instability, the Humans looked to the gods for explanations and luxury. Out of this grew their hope and spirituality. However as they have become as a society some have forgotten their routes and become corrupted, straying from the spiritual past of the ancestors. Now, Humans only turn to the spirits in no time of weakness and for their own selfish ends. Whilst some remain strong within their spiritual beliefs others do not, the question of faith is one that all must face before they go into the battlefield.

HOUSING

Housing is yet another area by which humanity has excelled, most famously due to their frailty and weakness to handle the elements. They like building new structures and take pride in creating structures that are suitable for the environment they're occupying. During construction, functionality comes above aesthetics, protection from the sun and rain and warmth would be the all-important functions that any new structure must stick to. However, this said, houses are not only employed for protection, they are also used to establish status i.e. the larger their property the greater important they are. This is especially true of materials used, as only the very rich are able to afford enough stone to construct a considerable structure.

EATING HABITS

Humans enjoy a varied diet of vegetables and meats and like the majority of things in Human society, the things they eat also reflects their social status. Those with more income are able to afford higher quality vegetables and more exotic meats.

COSTUMES

Human’s tailoring techniques are very advanced and this enables them to create many wonderful designs and patterns. As a result clothing originates for use as another way to acknowledging social status with just the rich able to afford elaborate clothing. Poor people usually end up in very dull garments whilst the rich go for more extravagant and colorful items. You're guaranteed a goody for the eyes in any human city that you decide to spend time in. Tailoring is not the only thing that humanity a developed, with amour crafting also a key skill. On the whole they wear one of two armor types: the poor, more expendable warriors largely use leather armor, however, because these warriors rise through the ranks they earn the to wear steel armor. Endless hours of development happen to be poured directly into creating elaborate, yet highly protective suits of armor, that can ensure protection and style around the battle field.

LAW

Many villages within Human society have regulations in place to avoid chaos. The only real ‘official’ laws are located in Tullan, and the king issues these. They are able to simply be revised upon his let them know.

PUNISHMENTS

There are various punishments open to authorities for people who break what the law states, probably the most severe which is the death penalty, but many are expelled rather than killed.

COMBAT

Humans are fully aware of their own frailties and look to prevent combat where possible, opting instead to control the situation with cunning and use and buy their way to power in other areas. Having said this, they are known for attacking when they feel they are in a position of strength, frequently as a direct result out numbering their opponents. Once they feel they're in a position of weakness they will often be put off by battle choosing instead to regroup and watch for further opportunities.

Magic

Because of their lack of physical strength many choose to devout their time and energies to advancing their magical knowledge. Consequently, through the years they've come to acquire a great understating that rivals the MoonElves in certain areas.

CURRENT INFLEUNCE / POWER

Humans have just as much power as anyone else who resides in Chantra, despite their perceived frailty. They will always shoot for the very best, not only on their own, but also for those who are within their care.
